Naim, Mushfiq guide Tigers to post 171

Mohammad Naim and Mushfiqur Rahim helped Bangladesh to post 171-4 against Sri Lanka in their first match of Super 12s  at Sharjah on Sunday.

Naim scored 62 off 52 and Mushfiqur played unbeaten innings of 57 off just 37.

Bangladesh started well but Sri Lanka returned to the battle strongly with two quick wickets of Liton Das and Shakib Al Hasan.

Lahiru Kumara picked up Liton’s wicket while Shakib has been bowled out by Chamika Karunaratne in his second over.

Then Mushfiqur and Naim guided the Tigers well to a big total. However, Binura Fernando removed Naim while Mushfiq completed rest of the innings with Afif Hossain and Mahmudullah.

For Sri Lanka, Chamika Karunaratne, Binura Fernando and Lahiru Kumara picked up one wicket for each.

Earlier, Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka has won the toss and sent Bangladesh to bat first at Sharjah on Sunday.

Tigers made one change to the side as spinner Nasum Ahmed replaces Taskin Ahmed.
