Shadman tests positive for COVID-19

Bangladesh Test opener Shadman Islam tested positive for the coronavirus and missed the opportunity to prepare himself for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka as he missed the first round of the National Cricket League (NCL).

He is in isolation at the moment and waiting for the third corona report to be negative. If that turned out negative, he will be able to play, reports Cricbuzz citing Shadman Islam.

The National Cricket League (NCL) which kicks-off today was a great opportunity for the batsman to get prepared for the Test series against Sri Lanka, but he is very unfortunate as he will not be able to participate in the first round of the league.

Earlier, he also missed the second Test against West Indies due to injury.

Bangladesh will arrive in Sri Lanka to play two Tests on April 12. Both of the matches will be held at the Pallekele International Stadium.
