Every minute is very important in our life in the world to earn something for the next life we will have after our death.

In our lives, due to the busy schedule and chores, we have ‘no time’ to remember Allah all day long. But what if you use the minutes that have gone unnoticed and use them wisely?

Here is a list of small things you can do in less than a minute to add to the book of good deeds and count that amount not only in this world but in the hereafter as well.

1. Take a minute to praise the glory and magnificence of the Almighty and say ‘Subhaan Allahi wa bi hamdihi’ (Glory and praise be to Allah) 100 times in less than a minute. Those who recite it many times each day are believed to wash away their sins like ‘sea bubbles’.

2. You can recite Surah Fatihah three times a minute. You can get more than 600 hasanat (blessings) by chanting Surah Fatihah. Therefore, by reciting it three times, you can get three times as many blessings.

3. It is never too late for Allah to seek forgiveness for the mistakes of our lives. Allah blesses us with his mercy and endless opportunities to seek mercy. So say ‘Astaghfir-Allah’ (I seek the forgiveness of Allah) as much as possible in a minute and ask Allah for mercy and forgiveness. To be honest, it brings good and blessings to this world and the afterlife.

4. You can recite Surah Ikhlaas. Reciting Surah Ikhlaas once is a reward for reciting one-third of the Holy Quran. And when it is recited 20 times, it is equal to the reward of reciting the Quran 7 times.

5. In one minute, remember our beloved Prophet by saying the following, ‘Sal-Allahu alayhi wa Salam’ (May Allah bless him and grant him peace). Allah gives you double blessings the more times you recite it.

6. If you find that you need strength and patience to deal with daily pain, recite ‘Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa Billaah’ (there is no strength and no power except with Allah) 40 times or more. This section is considered one of Jannah’s jewels. It serves as a means to overcome obstacles in life and to be successful.

7. If you find something harmful in your path, take a moment to get rid of it so that it can no longer harm or inconvenience others. It is considered a form of charity and sunnah in Islam. The Prophet said, “Remove harmful things from the roads of Muslims.” Sahih Muslim, 2618

8. Take a moment to look back on the blessings Allah has given you and thank him for his goodness and generosity. Take this moment to make all the bones of your body feel this gratitude. Because you couldn’t do anything in your life without him. And as humans, we tend to take his blessings for granted. So remember all the good things in your life and consciously strive to thank Allah.

9. If you find someone in need or need help, don’t hesitate, as it only takes a few minutes. Allah loves those who care for the people around him/her, so whatever you can do to relieve someone’s pain and be a source of comfort to your fellow Muslims. According to the great Prophet, “A Muslim is the brother of another Muslim, do not oppress him or hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever meets his brother’s needs, Allah meets his needs. Whoever has released his (Muslim) brother from discomfort, Allah removes him from discomfort on the day of the Resurrection, and whoever screened the Muslims, Allah screens him on the day of the Resurrection.” Sahih Bukhari Book 43, Number 622

10. One of the most beautiful ways to get good news within a minute is ‘Laa ilaha ill-Allah’ (there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah) 50 times or more. These words are essentially the basis of Muslim beliefs. It is evidence of Tawhid, Allah’s Oneness. If the last word coming out of a person’s lips is ‘Laa ilaha ill-Allah’, he or she will surely enter Jannah.
