Many devoted Muslims across the world wake up at midnight for the sake of Allah. Tahajjud prayers are performed at the midnight, especially before the Fajr prayer. Tahajjud means giving up sleep, that’s why this prayer is best done during the last third of the night.

Why are Tahajjud prayers so important? Here are some reasons why this prayer is so important:

Praying at night connects us to Allah without any distractions. Let’s face it, the world is chaotic and we often lose track of our obligatory religious duties. Tahajjud gives us time to connect and silently praise Allah without any worldly interference.

The sacrifice of peaceful sleep to Allah is highly rewarded by Him because it shows the devotion and dedication you have toward his word. Abandoning sleep is difficult and if a believer is willing to give up his sweet night’s sleep to the Almighty, the Almighty will give him a well-deserved reward for this noble deed.

Tahajjud prayers are promised endless blessings in both worlds, as mentioned in the Holy Quran:

وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَتَهَجَّدْ بِهِۦ نَافِلَةً لَّكَ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَبْعَثَكَ رَبُّكَ مَقَامًا مَّحْمُودًا

Meaning: And from the night, recite it as a charitable prayer for you, maybe your Lord will raise you to an admired station. Surah Isra: 79
