Duas for deceased

No creature is permanent on the earth. Every soul has to taste death as being born means death is inevitable.

We may lose our relatives, kin, close and acquaintances due to death. After losing any closest relative or friend, the mind is laden as separation is painful.

It feel a strong desire to do something good and beneficial for them. But in such a situation, we have nothing to do for them. We can only make dua for them. And it is very desirable to pray and seek forgiveness for them to the Almighty. Duas for deceased:

Dua 1

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ الَّلهُمَّ ثَبِّتْهُ

Allaahum-maghfir lahu Allaahumma thabbithu

Meaning: O Allah, forgive him. O Allah, strengthen him.

Abu Dawud 3:315

Dua 2

اللهُـمِّ اغْفِـرْ لِـ-فُلاَنٍ (باسـمه) وَارْفَعْ دَرَجَتََـهُ فِي المَهْـدِيّيـنَ ، وَاخْـلُفْـهُ في عَقِـبِهِ في الغَابِِـرِينَ، وَاغْفِـرْ لَنَا وَلَـهُ يا رَبَّ العـالَمـين، وَافْسَـحْ لَهُ في قَبْـرِهِ وَنَـوِّرْ لَهُ فِيهِ

Allaahummaghfir li (name of the deceased) warfa darajatahu fil-mahdiyyeena, wakhlufhu fee 'aqibihi fil-ghaabireena, waghfir-lanaa wa lahu yaa Rabbal-'aalameena, wafsah lahu fee qabrihi wa nawwir lahu feehi

Meaning: O Lord, forgive (name of the deceased) and raise his station among those who are guided. Send him along the way of those who came before, and pardon us and him, O Lord of the worlds. Expand for him his grave and shed light upon him in it.
