Sylhet-3 MP Mahmud Samad dies of COVID-19

Sylhet-3 constituency lawmaker Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury has died from COVID-19 infection at the United Hospital in Dhaka around 2:20 pm on Thursday afternoon.

The 66-year-old MP’s personal secretary Julhas Ahmed confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post.

In addition, Ahmeduz Samad, Mahmud Samad’s brother, confirmed his death through a Facebook post.

Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury was unwell for the last few days and his condition gradually deteriorated.

He has been admitted to United Hospital on March 8. Later, he tested positive for coronavirus on March 9 afternoon. Since then, he was undergoing treatment at the hospital.

According to the family members of Mahmud Us Samad, he received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on February 10. After taking the vaccine he had no adverse effects.
