DGHS DG Khurshid Alam tests COVID-19 positive

Professor Dr. ABM Khurshid Alam, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) tested positive for the COVID-19. In addition, the Line Director Mizanur Rahman also tested positive for the virus.
However, the number of infected people is not so high, said Professor Dr. Mohammad Robed Amin, director of the Department of Health’s Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDC) and spokesman for the media cell.
He told Dhaka Post on Saturday that four to five people, including the Director General of DGHS, and the department’s line director had been infected. Currently, they are staying at their respective homes and feeling good.

Earlier, DG ABM Khurshid Alam attended a program on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary on March 17 where at least 20 officials and employees of the health department were present.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 cases have been increased in the last few days and it is assumed that the third wave of the virus started. As a result, the health department urged all to follow the health rules to prevent the virus.
