The government has allowed shopping malls and markets to reopen their commercial activities from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm from April 9 to 13.

A gazette, signed by Cabinet Division Deputy Secretary Md Rezaul Islam, has been issued in this regard on Thursday.

Legal action will be taken if heath guidelines are not followed properly, the circular added.

Earlier, the shops and markets were ordered to be closed during the lockdown amid the surging COVID-19 cases and deaths across the country.

However, the Bangladesh government has imposed a 7-day nationwide lockdown, starting from Monday.
