Bangladeshi sailor killed in missile attack at Ukraine port

A Bangladeshi sailor named Md Hadisur Rahman of Bangladeshi ship Banglar Samriddhi has been killed after a missile hit the ship, which is stranded at the Olvia seaport due to war.

Hadisur Rahman was the third engineer of the vessel since 2018.

His home is in Barguna’s Betagi upazila’s Hosnanabad union. He is a son of madrasa teacher Abdur Razzak Hawlader.

The family members of the sailor have urged the government to bring his body back to Bangladesh.

The Bangladeshi ship with 29 sailors on board has been stranded in Ukraine’s Olivia port since Russia invaded the Eastern European country.
