Hospitals witness rise in patients with flu-like diseases
The number of patients with flu-like symptoms has increased significantly in hospitals across the country compared to the last three months.
Besides, the number of increased patients have created pressure on the entire health system.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday said that the Omicron variant of coronavirus is gradually taking the place of the Delta variant and community transmission of the variant has already occurred across the country.
Professor Dr Nazmul Islam, spokesperson of DGHS, on Sunday said that 73 percent of people detected with the Omicron variant of COVID-19 showed symptoms of the runny nose while 68 percent have headache, 64 percent have fatigue, and 60 percent have sneezing.
Sixty percent of the patients showed symptomsw of sore throat and 44 percent have cough, he added.
All the symptoms of the variant have similarities with the seasonal flu and influenza.
In such a situation, the number of coronavirus cases will increase in the country as the health rules have been violated across the country.
The country reported 31.29 percent COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
As per the WHO standard, Bangladesh remained well below the danger line as the country witnessed less than five percent positivity rate of COVID-19 for over three months but authorities issued a fresh alert on November 27, 2021, for Bangladesh after the outbreak of the highly contagious Omicron variant.
