The government has cut down the age limit for booster vaccine doses against COVID-19 from 60 to 50 years.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque made the remarks while talking to the media at the Secretariat on Monday.

He said, “The age limit was fixed at 60 years, but we have decided to bring it down to 50 years.”

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given approval in this regard, he added.

So far, health workers have administered about seven lakh booster doses, the minister said.

Bangladesh started to administer booster shots from December 28 last year for people aged above 60 years and frontliners.
