Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina and Bangladeshi people for their hospitality as he wrapped up his two-day official visit to Bangladesh.

PM Modi took to Twitter to express his gratefulness and hoped that the visit would lead to the further strengthening of bilateral ties between Bangladesh and India.

In his Tweet, Narendra Modi wrote, “I would like to thank the people of Bangladesh for their affection during my visit. I would also like to thank PM Sheikh Hasina and the Bangladesh Government for the warm hospitality. I am sure this visit will lead to further strengthening of bilateral ties between our nations.”

Earlier, Modi departed for New Delhi after wrapping up his two-day official visit at around 9:30 pm on Saturday.

A VVIP flight of Air India on boarding the Indian Prime Minister along with other entourage members took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Narendra Modi arrived in Bangladesh on March 26. He was the last among the five South Asian leaders to attend the birth centennial celebrations of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence.

During his visit, Modi held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and attended a meeting with President M Abdul Hamid.

The Indian PM also visited Bangabandhu’s mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj, Jessoreshwari Mandir in Satkhira, and a Matua temple in Orakandi.
