The government has decided to set up PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) testing facility for COVID-19 at three airports in the country.

Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam made the remarks while addressing the media at a briefing after the cabinet meeting at the secretariat.

Khandaker Anwarul Islam said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed to set up RT-PCR booths at three airports in the country.”

Measures have been taken to set up RT-PCR booths in all three airports within the shortest possible time, he added.

Besides, the results of the test will be available in 4-6 hours.

Such a decision has been taken by the government as many countries added the condition to submit the PCR test result 4-8 hours prior to the scheduled flight.
