A Dhaka court placed actress Pori Moni on one-day fresh remand in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.

Following a 5-day remand plea filed by Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the court passed the order on Thursday.

However, this is the third time Pori Moni’s bail plea got rejected.

Dhaka Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Abdullah Abu confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post.

Earlier this morning, Pori Moni was produced at the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court at 8:30 am.

In the remand prayer, CID said they did not get much time to interrogate her.

Meanwhile, Pori Moni’s lawyer Md Mujibur Rahman again applied for her bail demanding his client as an innocent one.

The magistrate placed her on one-day remand in the case after hearing both sides.

Earlier, RAB detained Pori Moni with a huge amount of foreign liquor and drugs after a raid at her Banani residence in the capital on August 4.

Following this, a case was filed with Banani police station under the Narcotics Control Act.

Pori Moni then placed on a four-day remand in the case. Later, a Dhaka Court had placed her on another 2-day remand on August 10.
