India’s Harnaaz Sandhu becomes Miss Universe 2021

Harnaaz Sandhu of India has been crowned the 70th Miss Universe on Sunday.

The previously reigning Miss Universe, Andrea Meza of Mexico, crowned her successor, in the Israeli Red Sea resort town of Eilat.

Harnaaz will bring the Miss Universe crown in India after 21 years as Lara Dutta was crowned the Miss Universe in 2000.

The Miss Universe Organization shared the news of Harnaaz’s win by a post on their official Instagram account with the caption ‘The new Miss Universe is… India’.

Harnaaz Sandhu started her journey in pageantry at the age of 17. She has previously been crowned Miss Diva 2021, Femina Miss India Punjab 2019 and placed in the Top 12 at Miss India 2019.

She has also starred in Punjabi films like ‘Yaara Diyan Poo Baran’ and ‘Bai Ji Kuttange’.
